Demi-pairs are primarily English language students who do not bear the cost of accommodation or food.

A Safe & Friendly Environment

Being a demi-pair is an economical way to learn to speak a second language in in a safe environment – ideal for young people aged 19-26 years old.

Demi-pairs have support systems – their family in Ireland and us, Living English.

Demi-pairs are an extra pair of hands – not a mother substitute. The mother may be at home with the children or the demi-pair may be asked to collect children from school, knowing that the parents will be home soon after.

Demi-pairs are free every weekend!

(except two nights a month if they are asked to babysit). Au-pairs work whenever they are needed

Demi-pairs are treated as a member of the family.

Many au-pairs are treated as paid employees.

The Objective is to Learn, Enjoy a Cultural exchange and to make friends.

Demi-pairs do not have the same responsibility in the family home as an au-pair.
